Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K (Canon EF/EF-S)

Blackmagic Design ups the ante in compact cine-style capture with their Super 35 sensor Pocket Cinema Camera 6K. Not only can the BMPCC 6K record up to 50 fps 6144 x 3456 video, but in a boon to lens connoisseurs everywhere, it features an active Canon EF mount, letting users take advantage of the expansive array of EF/EF-S–mount lenses available.

Turn to the BMPCC 6K to turn one frame into two by cropping a second shot from one frame, to upscale to 8K, or to simply capture rich, detailed footage with your favorite EF/EF-S–mount lens. The same internal color processing makes it easy to intercut BMPCC 6K with BMPCC 4K footage. Record using the internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots or output via the USB-C port to capture longer clips to an external drive. The BMPCC 6K includes a DaVinci Resolve Studio license and supports Blackmagic Raw capture from the sensor. Using the Raw format with the sensor's metadata simplifies editing to suit any project and makes editing easier with DaVinci Resolve.

The compact BMPCC 6K retains the familiar controls and menu layout of the 4K version in a minimally deeper form to accommodate the EF lens mount. Features such as ISO support up to 25,600, 13 stops of dynamic range, 1920 x 1080 monitor output, and a bright 1920 x 1080 touchscreen 5" LCD are carried through from the BMPCC 4K as well. Professional audio support includes a mini XLR input with phantom +48V power and four built-in mics. Whether you're shooting an indie film, wildlife, or fashion, the BMPCC 6K's compact form is less intrusive than larger cameras, lending itself to more intimate setups. The BMPCC 6K is fashioned from a carbon fiber polycarbonate composite that is both lightweight and durable.

Additional pro features include lens metadata support, 3D LUT application for both monitoring and recording, up to 21.2MP still image capture, and a multifunction grip that enables single-handed operation. Sync multiple cameras for a concert, event, or other multicamera shoots by linking an external timecode generator to the BMPCC 6K's internal timecode generator (accessed via the 3.5mm audio port). Then save valuable time by using Resolve 16.1 to automatically sync your multicamera shots in post.

In addition to the DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key, the BMPCC 6K comes with a power supply offering simultaneous battery charging, an LP-E6 battery, a lens port cap, and a camera strap.

Blackmagic Design ATEM Production Studio 4K Live Switcher live video live streaming

Blackmagic Design ATEM Production Studio 4K Live Switcher

The Blackmagic ATEM Production Studio 4K Live Switcher is a live event multi-camera production switcher with 8 individual Ultra HD inputs built into a 1RU chassis. Supporting NTSC/PAL/HD and Ultra HD video formats via Four Single Link 6G-SDI and Four 4K HDMI inputs, the switcher connects to a wide range of cameras and sources, delivering a single program stream in SD, HD, or Ultra HD video. All this is done live and in real-time with no rendering required.

The switcher features a reference video input for synchronizing the switcher to other equipment using Tri-level or Blackburst Sync. Each input also features its own frame synchronizer, which allows you to use cameras that do not feature Genlock as well as input video from computer sources. The switcher can handle inputs from all inputs at the same time.

The switcher provides six video outputs that are always active. Featuring one SDI and one HDMI Program output, both of which deliver SD/HD/Ultra HD, with one Aux SD/HD/Ultra HD Output that can deliver a clean Program feed without any downstream effects, as primary outputs. The switcher also features an HD only Program output signal for monitoring on an SDI-equipped HD monitor. Multiview monitoring is also HD only over dedicated SDI or HDMI output, and Multiview allows you to view the Program, Preview, six active inputs and two graphic channels (media players) on one screen at the same time. The switcher features a built-in compliment of one Upstream and two Downstream keyers for real time effects and composites in Ultra HD, with 10-bit processing. The two downstream keyers allow you to use two graphics/logos/titles/lower thirds from up to twenty stored graphics in a wide variety of formats.

A built-in two channel audio mixer handles the embedded HDMI and SDI audio from the six active video inputs as well as audio from the balanced and unbalanced analog audio inputs to provide you flexibility and creative audio options. Audio output is embedded in the SDI and HDMI stream, as well as available via balanced audio outputs. Either a Mac or PC running the included ATEM Software controls the switcher's operation and settings. For those who like the feel of a physical control panel, available ATEM Broadcast Panels, connected via the Ethernet port, also control all the features of the switcher. Illuminated front panel buttons allow you to locally select the Aux output, while a two-inch LCD screen built into the front of the unit allows you to see the Aux output for instant confirmation of the correct output.

Video

The ATEM Production Studio Live 4K Switcher supports 4K Ultra HD video (3840 x 2160), which is four times the resolution of Full HD. It has eight video inputs, all of which can be active simultaneously.
The switcher features four single links 6G-SDI and four HDMI 4K inputs, which allows you to connect SD/HD/Ultra HD and computer-based signal to the switcher. Although the switcher takes reference video in for sync timing so that it can interface with other post-production equipment, each input has its own Frame synchronizer, which enables you to use cameras that do not have genlock capability or for the input of computer sources such as Keynote or PowerPoint Presentations

The capture video format is set by the user and must be the same across each input, as the switcher cannot scale different input formats to match the project format.

Audio

The switcher includes a built-in audio mixer that allows you to adjust the audio embedded in the SDI and HDMI signals. With 10 inputs available the 2 channel mixer can also adjust levels of both the balanced and unbalanced analog inputs.

6 Video Outputs

The switcher features 3 program outputs for the final video, delivering SD/HD/Ultra HD via both a 6G-SDI port and HDMI 4K connector. The third program output is an HD-SDI only port (Ultra HD is automatically down-converted).
Two Multi-view outputs allow you to see Program, Preview, the 6 live inputs and the two graphic channels on one screen at the same time. There is 1 SDI and 1 HDMI connector which feeds the Multi-view output to HD monitors.

The switcher features an SDI Aux output that is capable of delivering the Program out feed with or without the downstream keyer effects in SD, HD and Ultra HD. Control of the Aux output is by front mounted panel buttons, and built-in 2-inch LCD screen for immediate confirmation of the Aux output.

Multi-View Monitoring

Multi view allows you to view the program, preview, 6 live inputs and 2 media players side by side. You can also add custom labels that make it easy to identify each input.

Effects

The switcher features an upstream keyer that includes independent chroma, pattern, shaped and luma keying all at Ultra HD resolution with 10-bit processing. Two downstream keyers allow you to add graphics, lower thirds, titles and logos for a polished live production.

Control Interface

The ATEM 4K switcher uses an Ethernet connection to interface with control surfaces such as the optional ATEM 1 M/E and 2 M/E Broadcast Panels.
You can also control the switcher by using the included ATEM Software Control software from a Mac or Windows computer over Ethernet. You can control all production settings of the switcher as well as directly import graphics from your computer into the switcher's media pool.
You set the format for each project you are working on, from SD to HD to Ultra HD, selecting resolution and frame rate. This is accomplished by using either the included software for Mac/PC, or via the ATEM 1 M/E or ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel.
Using the Ethernet port on the switcher allows you to connect control surfaces directly to the switcher or you can control the switcher across a network.

The Switcher features a mini USB port that is used for software updates and to set the switcher's Chassis IP address, which can only be done by using a computer running the ATEM Switcher Utility connected to the switcher's USB port.

Rack Mount

The switcher is a single RU in height and has built-in rack mount ears, for mounting in a production road case or in a post-production facility.

Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD

Designed for broadcasters and A/V professionals, Blackmagic Design's ATEM Television Studio HD is a compact yet powerful and easy-to-operate solution. Four of each HDMI and SDI inputs are available on the rear of the chassis, and both sets of inputs support SD and HD resolution signals. The relatively small chassis can fit on a standard equipment rack with the separately available Teranex Mini Rack Shelf, so it can be brought on location for streaming video, or installed semi-permanently for recording or broadcasting from a studio.

The front panel keeps essential controls at arm's reach, while more advanced controls and settings, such as upstream and downstream keyers, graphics, media, and precise mixing for the 10 channels of available audio can be accessed through the USB interface or with an ATEM control surface. Move to the rear to reveal the BNC and HDMI connections for input and output. Multiview can be transmitted over SDI or HDMI to align with your equipment setup, and an AUX output lets you send video to an external display, which is great for live events with a projection setup. Four of the SDI outputs have embedded talkback audio for studio setups. Blackmagic Design Studio Cameras can also be controlled from the switcher for consistent looks across the board.

Transitions

Choose from a wide range of transitions including cut, mix, dip, and wipe patterns. ATEM Television Studio HD makes every transition instantly available and gives you full control over type, pattern, length, and more.

Available transitions include:

  • Cut: When you press the cut button, ATEM instantly changes from your current program source to the preview source. Cuts can be performed by directly selecting sources or by pressing the cut button to switch to the next source on the preview bus.
  • Mix: The mix, or dissolve transition, gradually transitions from one source to the next by creating a smooth blend. You can set custom timings to manually blend the transition.
  • Dip: Just like mix transitions, a dip transition is a gradual blend that includes either a solid color, graphic, or another clip between the two video sources. Dips to black or white between sources are the most popular, or you can use logos or sponsor graphics.
  • Wipe: ATEM Television Studio HD has 18 built-in wipe patterns. Choose from circles, diamonds, squares, and more. Shapes and patterns can be inverted, softened, or even have customized colored borders. You can even insert live video into the borders for further customization.
  • DVE: The ATEM Television Studio HD has a powerful built-in Digital Video Effects processor, or DVE. You can push, spin, squeeze and swoosh your live video from one camera to the next with incredible built-in DVE transitions. DVE transitions can be flip-flopped and reversed, giving you even more transition options. With 35 built-in pre-programmed moves, you can get started with advanced transitions. Graphic wipes can also be created by combining a DVE transition with a logo created in Photoshop.

Upstream Keyer

Layer live video over other video sources or graphics with the Upstream Keyer. You can use luma key, linear key, pattern key, or shoot against a green screen and use chroma key to instantly composite the video over virtual sets.
  • Luma key: Luma keys are sometimes known as a self key because the same video source is used for cutting the key and overlaying the video image. Luma keys work best with high contrast images, like white elements on a black background, so you can use the contrast to cut the black background and replace it with live video or graphics.
  • Linear key: Get clean, high-quality results with linear keying by using two separate sources for the fill and the key to create one video image. The fill signal contains the video to be stacked over the background, while the key signal contains a grayscale mask to cut out, or mask, the area to be filled.
  • Chroma key: Used every day for TV weather forecasts, chroma keys are a powerful way of combining live images together in real time. The presenter typically stands in front of a green or blue background and the chroma keyer will remove only that color and combine it with another image, such as a video or graphic.
  • Pattern key: Combine live images with any of the 18 built-in wipe patterns to combine live images or graphics with geometric shapes. You get full control over softness, symmetry, size, and position to create unique picture-in-picture effects that can be transitioned to as easily as any live source.

Downstream Keyers

The ATEM Television Studio HD includes two downstream keyers so you can add high-quality graphics like logos, bugs, and titles from the built-in media players over the live 'on air' program output. Downstream keyers are the last layers of keying, so they overlay all video switched to the main program output.

Power Macros

To automate complex sequences of precisely timed actions on your ATEM switcher, you can now create powerful shortcuts called macros. Record a sequence of transitions between video sources, including key effects, audio mixer adjustments, camera control settings, and more using the ATEM software or hardware control panel. Macros are saved as XML files that can be edited with a standard text editor, so you can combine them together to build sophisticated sequences that would be impossible to execute manually during a live production. That means you can create unique looks or your programs that can be recalled instantly, copied between switchers, and used repeatedly when you require them.

Mix Minus

The four SDI talkback outputs on the ATEM Television Studio HD support mix minus, which is important when you are working with remote interviewees. For example, you could remove input 5 from the program audio on output 5, so the remote interviewee hears everything in the program except themselves talking and won't be distracted by any audio delay.

Audio Mixer

The built-in audio mixer lets you control camera and external audio with precision level and balance adjustments on all 10 available channels. You can enable or disable channels, or activate audio-follow-video (AFV) mode instantly. Adjust the mixer via the ATEM Control Software or plug in an external Mackie standard USB fader panel.

Multiview

Multiview allows you to see your sources, graphics, preview, and program outputs on a single screen so you don't need separate monitors for your individual cameras. You get HDMI and SDI multiview outputs so you can connect professional broadcast SDI monitors, computer monitors, or even consumer HDTV sets.

Media Players

Eliminate external character generators by storing up to 20 broadcast quality RGBA graphic files in the media pool. The two media players appear as input sources to your switcher. You can transition to graphics as full frame video or feed them to the keyers for overlaying video. Popular image formats such as PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF are supported.

ATEM Photoshop Plugin

Use the included Photoshop plugin to create still broadcast graphics and instantly add them to the ATEM Television Studio HD's media pool. Add professional looking logos, lower thirds, scorecards, or other real-time graphics and get them on air in no time.

Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio Pro HD Live Production Switcher

Designed for broadcasters and A/V professionals, Blackmagic Design's ATEM Television Studio Pro HD Live Production Switcher is an 8-input live production switcher with integrated control panel. Four of each HDMI and SDI inputs are available on the rear of the chassis, with both sets of inputs supporting SD and HD resolution from both professional and consumer cameras. The relatively small chassis fits in a standard equipment rack, allowing it to be installed on a sliding rack shelf or packed into a "fly-away-kit" for use on location.

The control surface is replete with control buttons, knobs, and a fader bar. All this enables selecting camera inputs and controlling transitions, keyers, settings, and the DVE. Inputs and outputs are located on the rear of the unit. PGM output is available via SDI while multiview can be sent via SDI or HDMI. An AUX output lets you send video to an external display, which is great for live events with a projection setup. Four of the SDI outputs have embedded talkback audio for studio setups.

Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel

The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel is a full-featured hardware control panel for BMD ATEM switchers. It connects via Ethernet and provides hands-on tactile control, essential for broadcast studios. An LCD information display surrounded by soft-touch menu buttons and rotary encoders allows for intuitive programming of control functions. Aside from the main display, each programmable button has an LCD scribble strip to illustrate its function. Since buttons can perform different functions, up to 20 inputs can be accessed by shifting the 10 input buttons. The buttons themselves have curved indentations to help avoid incorrect keystrokes. Real-time dynamic controls are available in the form of a single 3-axis joystick and large weighted T-bar fader. Use the joystick to remotely control PTZ cameras or effects, and the T-bar to adjust transitions, wipes, fades, and more.

At the rear of the unit are dual Ethernet connections, a USB port for firmware updates, and power inputs. Use the IEC input for connecting to mains power, and the 4-pin XLR 12V input for DC power supplies. The panel's chassis is sized small enough to fit in a standard equipment rack, allowing it to be implemented in broadcast trucks and fly-away kits.

The Blackmagic Design SmartScope Duo 4K Rack-Mounted Dual 6G-SDI Monitors

It is a monitoring solution for studio and location productions, displaying video with resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 30p. It features two 8" monitors each with a loop-through SDI input and output. The inputs are auto-sensing/selecting so you don't have to worry about matching the input format; the monitor will display any supported format that you feed it. You can choose to select to display either the input video or one of six scope displays, while the input video passes through the monitor to downstreamed devices.

You use the USB connector to initialize the monitor on your network; after that you can control the monitors using the supplied software via the Ethernet connector. This allows you to adjust the monitors' brightness and color as well as select the monitors display mode - video or scope view. The SmartScope Duo 4K also incorporates a Tally display around the border of the image, which works with industry standard Tally systems. The unit takes up three rack height units, but is less than two inches deep (including the connector depth), which makes it well suited for use in production trucks where space is at a premium. The unit also automatically flips the image if you need to install the unit upside down.

Note: SmartScope Duo v1 and v2 are functionally identical, with v2 containing a slightly different internal component set.

Monitors SD/HD/3G/6G-SDI Signals

The SmartScope Duo 4K allows you to monitor SD, HD, 2K, and UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) video. The inputs are auto-sensing/switching to match the supported input video format. Each monitor features one 6G input and one reclocked loop-through 6G output.

Video or Scope View

You can select from either the video feed or one of six scope views of the video signal:
  • Waveform: Displays the luminance component of the video signal on an IRE scale.
  • Vectorscope: Allows you to accurately measure colors in the video signal, and is a valuable tool when matching cameras, or when you need to align the hue on the output of decks.
  • Parade: You can choose to display either RGB or YUV Parade. RGB Parade lets you check for illegal colors, plotting them against an IRE Scale. The YUV Parade display shows the YUV component video as it is transmitted down the SDI cable.
  • Audio Views: allows you to monitor 16 channels of audio, checking the levels and the audio phase. You can monitor the levels of all 16 channels at the same time, or monitor the stereo phase of SDI audio pairs. The stereo phase meter plots left and right audio as an XY scope display, and out of phase audio can be seen as either a left or right leaning display.
  • Histogram: The Histogram view lets you see where the pixels are in your video, and how they are distributed from black to white. You can see where the overall exposure is, and if you are exposing the brighter areas of your image with enough detail.

Software Control

The monitor features an Ethernet in and an Ethernet out port, and you set up the unit using the USB 2.0 port. After that, you use the included free control utility with either a Mac or Windows computer via the Ethernet connection to select your views and make any adjustments to the monitor for brightness and color.

Tally

Each monitor supports the Tally function with different colored borders indicating the Tally condition: preview, on air, and recording. The tally connector is compatible with switchers and automation systems.

Reversible

SmartView monitors may be installed in the extreme top or bottom of equipment racks. The SmartView monitor will automatically sense the rotation angle of the screen and flip the image to the correct rotation. You can even remove the front panel and rotate it 180 degrees if required.

The DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel from Blackmagic Design is a step-up in functionality from the Micro panel but without all the features of the Advanced panel.

It is a portable control surface suitable for those that need to switch between editing and color grading. It can sit on your desktop, in a rack, or be bolted to a surface. As with the Micro panel, it features three high-resolution, weighted trackballs and 12 control knobs for accessing essential primary color-correction tools in the Resolve software. 18 dedicated keys on the right side also give you access to the most commonly used grading features and playback controls.

However, the Mini Panel also features two LCD screens that allow you to display menus or the parameters of the tools you are working with. Eight customizable soft knobs provide precise control and a quick reset by pushing the knob. Dedicated feature buttons allow you to change tools without needing to use the mouse. The Mini panel incorporates a USB Type-C and Ethernet interface. It is compatible with Mac, Windows, and select Linux systems. You can power the panel via an AC power source, a 4-pin XLR connector, or PoE. For the panel to work with Resolve, your computer must be running DaVinci Resolve 14.3 or DaVinci Resolve Studio 14.3 or later. An included USB 3.0 Type-A to USB Type-C cable provides backward compatibility for systems that are limited to USB Type-A connectors.

  • Small enough to take with you, so you can bring it to any Resolve system (14.3 or later) and do color correction on location or at the editor's suite
  • Shares basic layout with both Micro and Advanced Panels
  • Interfaces with and controls software
  • Three track balls with outer control rings
  • Log and Offset color-correction selection buttons
  • Buttons are backlit and light up when actuated
  • Two LCD display screens for displaying the menu system or the parameters of the tools you are wotking with
  • Custom control knobs with 4096 steps per rotation and push button reset

Primary Correction Creative Control Knobs

Control knobs are grouped into four sets of three knobs

Luminance

  • Y Lift Control: Adjust the contrast of the image in the darker areas, specifically in the Y (luminance) channel only. This adjustment allows changing the black point without changing saturation.
  • Y Gamma Control: Adjust the contrast of the image in the mid-tone areas, specifically in the Y (luminance) channel only. This control helps add depth and extra vibrancy to shots
  • Y Gain: You can reduce hot spots or tweak the whites to define a look.

Contrast

  • Contrast Control: Increase contrast to make the blacks darker and the whites brighter, or decrease contrast to do the opposite.
  • Pivot: Change the center of tonality about which dark and bright parts of the image are stretched or narrowed during a contrast adjustment.
  • Mid-Tone Detail: Affect the contrast of regions of the image with high edge detail to increase or decrease the perception of image sharpness and definition. Often used for softening facial features making it popular for beauty shots.

Detail

  • Color Boost Control: Raise the saturation in regions of the image with low saturation while leaving properly saturated areas alone. Also known as a vibrance operation, this is useful for adding color without over-saturating the image.
  • Shadow Control: Selectively lighten or darken shadow detail without affecting your images mid-tones.
  • Highlight Control: Enable retrieving blown-out highlight detail in high dynamic range media by lowering this parameter. This allows you to achieve a smooth blend between the retrieved highlights and unadjusted mid tones for a natural-looking image.

Saturation

Increases or decreases overall image saturation — you can turn your color image into a grayscale image with this control.

  • Hue Control: Rotates all hues of the image around 360° of the color wheel. The default setting is 50, which retains the original distribution of hues.
  • Luminance Mix Control: Controls the balance between the YRGB adjustments and Y only adjustments made using the Y channel lift, gamma, and gain controls.
  • The system powers from either AC power or a 12 VDC source via the 4-pin XLR connector.
  • The Mini panel can sit on a desktop, be mounted in a rack, or mounted to a surface to prevent theft or be used in a moving vehicle or on a cart.

The DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel from Blackmagic Design is a portable control surface that provides more control and a faster workflow to DaVinci Resolve software than working with a keyboard and mouse alone.

It is suitable for editors and colorists that need a portable control surface. It features three high-resolution, weighted trackballs and 12 control knobs for accessing essential primary color-correction tools in the Resolve software. Eighteen dedicated keys on the right side also give you access to the most commonly used grading features and playback controls.

The Micro Panel uses a USB 3.0 Type-C interface that allows you to connect to a computer or laptop and power the panel, alleviating the need for a separate power supply. It also interfaces with Mac, Windows, or select Linux systems. For the panel to work with Resolve, your computer must be running DaVinci Resolve 14.3 or DaVinci Resolve Studio 14.3 or later. An included USB 3.0 Type-A to USB Type-C cable provides backward compatibility for systems that have USB 3.0 Type-A ports.
